Riyadhul Jannah, commonly known today as the Rawdha, holds a special significance within al-Masjid an-Nabawi. According to a Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, he stated, “What is between my house and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Jannah” [Bukhari, 1196]. This profound saying has made praying Salah in this specific area a cherished desire for many. To ensure an organized system and provide everyone with the opportunity to pray in this sacred space, a booking system is now in place, and adherence to it is required for access.

Which area is Riyadhul Jannah?
Riyadhul Jannah is situated between the Prophet's ﷺ pulpit and 'Aishah's house (May Allah be please with her), now enclosed by the golden gates. Presently, its dimensions are estimated to be around 5 pillars in width and 3 pillars in length. Refer to the provided diagram for a visual representation of Riyadhul Jannah, highlighting its key pillars.

Is there a special reward for praying in this area?
Dr. Yusuf Shabbir, in his book 'Al-ʿIqd al-Thamīn fī Ḥubb al-Nabī al-Amīn,' outlines ten meanings of the Hadith regarding this area being a garden of paradise. One interpretation is that engaging in good deeds here will lead to Jannah. Another perspective suggests that this area reflects Jannah as the special mercy of Allah Almighty descends here. In essence, performing good deeds in this area results in attaining the special mercy of Allah and the promise of entering Jannah, Inshallah.
