As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, Muslims around the world anticipate the opportunity to engage in heightened worship, devotion, and reflection. One of the most spiritually uplifting acts in this sacred month is I'tikaf, the practice of secluding oneself in the mosque with the intention of dedicating time solely to worship, Quran recitation, and remembrance of Allah.
Among the most honoured locations for I'tikaf are Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and al-Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah, the two holiest mosques in Islam. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced the registration process and requirements for those wishing to observe Itikaf in these sacred places.
